  • Certified Paid Accountant?

Posted by admin on February 9th, 2010 and filed under NXT Education | 4 Comments »

Hay, I’m a Jr. in Highschool right now and am going to be a Sr. nxt yr and Ive been thinking about a few career options, but I’m thinking maybe a CPA? What is this occupation/career actually like? What’s the fastest/best way to obtain this career straight out of/after graduating highschool? How is the salary, hours, etc? Is it difficult to become/be 1? Which companies/job opportunities are best after all the education is done … Thnxs =]

    Veronica ?
I hope this job isnt that too much stressful either I want to be able to have a life as well … Thnxs ;]

CPA is a Certified Public Accountant. The licensing requirements are different state to state but in every state yo are required to pass a multiple part test. There are educational requirements of at least a 4 year college degree (most states 5 years). There are different jobs within the profession. Specialize in tax and you will work many hours of overtime during the tax filing season. I would ask my friends of any parents are CPA’s and talk about specifics for your area.

anyone else not a stereotypical youth? .. advice?

so I am 19 yrs old and am a 2nd yr university student. i feel like im totally going against the tide being a youth. like i work really hard at my uni and have a job, but and don’t really go out all that much, mainly because i really don’t have the money and im saving for things in the coming years.

im not really a fan of getting pissed, or going to things that i have no interest in just cause everyone else is, or having one night stands. .. my cousins were here recently with friends and were happy to meet up with my bro (who fits this) but when i asked if i could see them they said they’d see me nxt wkend (they were coming back for an uncle wedding)

this really hurt. i am pretty happy who i am, and generally stand up for myself. .. i just want to know if there are others out there who find more interesting things in life then getting plastered every wkend and not wanting further education ??

I’m 18, have never been drunk, been to a party, had a REAL boyfriend or had sex. All the weed smoking, horny young people I know think I’m weird, but I don’t care. They’ll all wish they were like me in the future.
For example, I have this friend who always used to get drunk and have sex with random guys. I would constantly tell her it was dirty and wrong, but she would wave me off. Now, a year later, she wishes she had listened to me…..Who would rather stay home and read Stephen King or paint than hit up a hoppin club.
These people who are going out and vomiting their guts out every weekend are simply "children" looking for attention, not young adults.
But I wouldn’t worry about it too much, they’ll all comes to their senses someday.
And I understand that it seems all the guys want some "hot party girl"…But lemme tell you, those chicks are good….For an hour. When it comes to real relationships, all men appreciate good girls like you and I.
So keep your head high and don’t fall into the torrent of modern day youth society?

family problem advice needed (parents hardcore christians, keep n mind when answering)?

My mom & dad dont want me 2 go 2 college! They want me 2 live @ home w them for anotha yr.I am the oldest of 5 & n all honesty the main mom n the house.I cook clean do laundry etc. since I was 11.my mom shops.I luv my rents dont get me wrong but I want my education & want 2 b on my own so bad!I have told them that since age 10!So Im forced 2 get a full time job and pay for my own school, I have no credit & cant get a loan.Bottom line my rents want me as their live n maid for anotha yr & I want no part of it.They have screwed me over with school (I was enrolled and goin in oct) bcuz they said they aren’t payin 4 it anymore.I have a fiancée whom I luv very much and plan on gettin married 2 w/n the nxt 2 yrs. he has an apartment & knows how difficult my rents r makin things on me. He asked me if I wanted 2 move n and I dunno wat 2 do. Do I live @ home where it is unbearable? or do I move n w the bf. he has a full time job and is goin to school already and I wood work for a yr 2 go to schoo

If you’re 18 or older, make your own decision and it sounds like you already know what you want to do, you just need to gather your courage to do it. I say, move in with your boyfriend but work out the finances first and get it all in writing. Things are always sweeter in the beginning than they are at the end. Apply for student loans and spend some time in the finance dept. of the school because there are grants you might be eligible for as well. Find out if your boyfriend expects you to pay rent, help with the bills, buy food, etc. Get ALL the information you can before making a final decision.

Whats her message? is she into me?

Posted by admin on December 8th, 2009 and filed under NXT Education | 1 Comment »

I like this girl and I think she likes me as well (she gave me signs when we first met). We met each other last week and i got her msn from a mutual friend. Today we were talking online and she asked many personal things about me and seems to be interested in things like my family, my age, my education etc. After a while I asked her for her number and hinted that I wanna ask her out. So she gave me her number and said that she might not pick up cause she doesnt always have her phone around everytime and she will think about going to lunch with me. She was also slow to response sometimes and said she is very busy for the nxt week or two and after that she is free. Whats her massage?

Maybe she’s just not ready for a relationship yet. She might like you, but give her time, and keep some distance, most girls like a challenge, they don’t like to be hounded.

Don’t chase her her off. Be friendly, and don’t quiz her about these things, just let her know you’re still interested in meeting her and she’ll probably come round. Let her know you will take her out, but don’t go spending a bomb on her:)

    Good luck:)

What is the best path for me to take?

I am 20yrs old & female, 21 nxt month. I WANT to join the military. Really, I want to join the Air Force. But I have heard that it’s a little tough to get into USAF right now & that they are stricter than the other branches. So I was going to decide to do ANG to at least "get in" then change to active duty. Well since high school NAVY has been knocking on my door. Calling, emailing etc.. & absolutely EVRYthing has been leading me to join the NAVY.. BUT I’m not really excited about being on a ship for 6 months, & I’m kind of scared, what with being a female & better looking than average if I might add, (haha.. I’m joking.. Well.. not really ;p) there is a possible (maybe slim chance) of getting raped. My civilian job right now is Pharmacy Technician, and I would like to continue on with my education. I was thinking if I do Navy I could do Navy Reserve, (Navy uncle said I wouldn’t get deployed, but I shot that down bcz what’s the point right?) & I also read that ANG would be a great opportunity if I was only in it for educational purposes. BUT it’s not the money or education for me.. I REALLY do want to be in it for my country (just not fighting for it head on like ARMY) I’m also fine with being deployed. So yea.. I don’t know which branch or which option to choose. I’ve only talked to a Navy recruiter soOo I only know their side & I’m scared to talk to an Air Force recruiter bcz of getting shot down. Is NAVY it for me? Am I destined to be a sailor? & pls don’t think that I see Air Force as "better" than Navy, I would’ve joined right after high school, but I had family matters to tend to. So here I am, but I want to make the "best" decision for me. Anyways any advice (reasonable advice) would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance & my apologies for such a long question. ;]

Actually, you’re the only one who can answer that question. As cliché as it may sound, follow what your heart says. But here’s what I have to say…

If you REALLY want to join the army, or the navy, or anything else for that matter, you should not be afraid of encountering any problems. Being the only female in a group of males is not something that should hinder you from doing what you really want to do. My brother is an Air Force Reservist, my uncle served in the Navy and my grandfather served in the Army. Here’s what they all told me… "There’s no difficult thing for someone who really wants it." I’ve been wanting to join the Air Force for such a long time and I did not have second thoughts of joining even if I knew that I won’t get in because of my health. I can not join because of my health history but still I tried! If you want to join the Air Force so much, there’s no reason why you should instead join the Navy.

I hope you get my point.

Toss a coin. Before the coin lands, you’ll have the answer you want. =)

I had a 3.5gpa in the 7th grade..at the beginning of 8th grade my abusive mom took me out of school saying she was going to home school me(which shenever planed to do and never occured).I spent the nxt 3 years taking care of my younger brother whom she also took out and wasn’t teaching(he was only 7 and is 15now with 4/5th grade level education). Now that I’m an adult I have to either settle for aGED or go back to school………..Iddin’t drop out..I never played hookie..someone did this to me.Should I not be resentful? I want to go to college..but how?Where do I start?

I don’t understand how she was able to keep either of you out of school without turning in information to the school board on a regular basis.

Go back and get your GED and try to get into a college and take some courses and help your brother. Set a good example for him and encourage him to do better and get his education, too.

And resentment is understood but it’s time to get past that. All that will do is hold you back and keep you from making something of yourself ~ plus it’s wasted energy. You can’t change the past, but you can make your future a good one by planning things and accomplishing as many goals as you can.

Also, encourage your brother to do the same as you and study with him and try to get him up-to-par or people will make fun of him and he will have very low self-esteem. He needs to know he can make his future a good one, too.

    Good luck

What are my chances of getting into College of Charleston?

Yes, apply for the college and see. You’re involved in alot of extracurriculars and sports which is a definate positive, plus your GPA is good. The only negative of your report is your SAT score, if you’re going to be a senior next year I’d recommend you retake the SAT to raise your scores. Still, I’m pretty sure they’ll accept you. Hope my answer helps and best of luck in college!

    Please take this survey! Thanks?

Ok well I just want to know why you guys think children are responsible for their own education. Once entering high school?

I agree. I’m just comparing answers and bringing my results into school tomorrow. Thanks for your time. And if you could please be detailed in your answer. Thanks so much. I’ll be sure to post results in the nxt couple days.

yes, i do think that kids are responsible for their own education upon entering high school. by time you are 14 years old, you should know right from wrong, you should know what you want to do, where you need to be going in life, and you should know that it isn’t the world’s job to make sure that you get this done. it is up to the teacher to provide the right information in a helpful way, and be there for when the student needs help, but it is not their responsibility to tell the student to be there and give them an abundance of second, third, fourth etc. chances.

i do well in school (i’m a senior) and it is because i want to do well. my teachers are there for me to teach me the information and help me to understand it. it is my responsibility to go to them if i do not. their responsibility is to put the information out there, and it is the student’s responsibility to do something with it. in the real world, no one’s going to be calling mom when you fail a test, it’s up to you to do what’s best, and high school should be about preparing you for the real world.
