My mom & dad dont want me 2 go 2 college! They want me 2 live @ home w them for anotha yr.I am the oldest of 5 & n all honesty the main mom n the house.I cook clean do laundry etc. since I was 11.my mom shops.I luv my rents dont get me wrong but I want my education & want 2 b on my own so bad!I have told them that since age 10!So Im forced 2 get a full time job and pay for my own school, I have no credit & cant get a loan.Bottom line my rents want me as their live n maid for anotha yr & I want no part of it.They have screwed me over with school (I was enrolled and goin in oct) bcuz they said they aren’t payin 4 it anymore.I have a fiancée whom I luv very much and plan on gettin married 2 w/n the nxt 2 yrs. he has an apartment & knows how difficult my rents r makin things on me. He asked me if I wanted 2 move n and I dunno wat 2 do. Do I live @ home where it is unbearable? or do I move n w the bf. he has a full time job and is goin to school already and I wood work for a yr 2 go to schoo

If you’re 18 or older, make your own decision and it sounds like you already know what you want to do, you just need to gather your courage to do it. I say, move in with your boyfriend but work out the finances first and get it all in writing. Things are always sweeter in the beginning than they are at the end. Apply for student loans and spend some time in the finance dept. of the school because there are grants you might be eligible for as well. Find out if your boyfriend expects you to pay rent, help with the bills, buy food, etc. Get ALL the information you can before making a final decision.

I have the prequisite for nursing but was not accepted to the nursing program. What do I do now?

Posted by admin on December 28th, 2009 and filed under nxt programming | 2 Comments »

Advisor said to re-apply. What if I don’t get in nxt time? With all my credits what can i do?

If you really want to be a nurse, you’ll keep reapplying until you do get in, even if it takes a couple of years longer than you wanted. How bad do you want this? Do you have courses you need to take for the nursing degree that are general ed. courses? Work on those in the meantime. Or retake your pre-reqs to get a higher grade and boost your GPA so you might rank higher next time in the applicant pool. Check into other schools and apply to their programs if you can.

the sensors of my lego mindstorms nxt kit stop working after a period of time, what shall i do?

    please do relpy
    thanks

Without knowing more detailed information about your situation, I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that it has to do with the programming. If the programming isn’t done right, it might appear that the sensors stop working even though they haven’t lost any functionality.

The best way to test the sensors is to use the factory programmed sensor tests that came pre-loaded on the NXT block. They tell you which sensor to plug in and then give direct feedback from the sensor (by sound or by displaying something on the screen) so you can see whether its working. If you’ve erased all the programs at any time, though, they won’t be on your NXT.

The link below shows you how to test the sound sensor. On the page are links to directions for testing each of the other sensors.

I’m doing IGCSE right now, and I plan to do IB next year, but i’m struggling with choosing the subjects. I want to do education in university.
I’m very good at maths n chinese, i fail in biology; Chemistry is when i get an A* in an exam then i get an E in the nxt then bk up again.. =S… physics is the only one in science tht stays at an average level usually between B and A*
English is my worst subject of all, even worse than biology.

Whats her message? is she into me?

Posted by admin on December 8th, 2009 and filed under NXT Education | 1 Comment »

I like this girl and I think she likes me as well (she gave me signs when we first met). We met each other last week and i got her msn from a mutual friend. Today we were talking online and she asked many personal things about me and seems to be interested in things like my family, my age, my education etc. After a while I asked her for her number and hinted that I wanna ask her out. So she gave me her number and said that she might not pick up cause she doesnt always have her phone around everytime and she will think about going to lunch with me. She was also slow to response sometimes and said she is very busy for the nxt week or two and after that she is free. Whats her massage?

Maybe she’s just not ready for a relationship yet. She might like you, but give her time, and keep some distance, most girls like a challenge, they don’t like to be hounded.

Don’t chase her her off. Be friendly, and don’t quiz her about these things, just let her know you’re still interested in meeting her and she’ll probably come round. Let her know you will take her out, but don’t go spending a bomb on her:)

    Good luck:)

Help me figure out what part of Raleigh, NC to live in?

Posted by admin on December 4th, 2009 and filed under LEGO Education | 3 Comments »

    These are our needs:
Hubby will be working about 6 blocks from the NC State Campus, and I intend to finish my BA there after I become an in-state resident. We are super active and like riding bikes to work. We have two kids quickly approaching elementary school age, and education is of the utmost importance to us. We are conservative middle class people, and don’t want to be in a scary, crazy part of town, but we also appreciate diversity and the arts, and can’t stand suburban lego-land and their often matching cookie-cutter home owners.
For those of you who know the area, where might you place us in Raleigh based on this info?

I would start around Cameron Village, Oberlin and University Park neighborhoods. Also some of the neighborhoods along Wade Ave, Dixie Trail, and Glenwood Ave. There are lots of good neighborhoods in and around downtown that will be great for you…as well as those to the northside of the NCSU campus (which has fewer students than the southside of it).

How do I make my "Lego NXT" Robot follow a black line?

Posted by admin on December 4th, 2009 and filed under nxt sensors | 1 Comment »

The Lego NXT robot I have only has one light sensor and that’s all that is allowed in the competition and I need to know how to have the light sensor follow a black line when it picks it up.
